thoughts on disappointment in WI
I understand the very wealthy, the male, the far right-wingers’ votes, but I’m so dumbfounded by the middle class (and the straight up poor!), the female, and the more moderate people who voted against their own rights and well-being. I’m surprised by so many of my “friends” who I would have bet would have voted opposite of how they have, as it would have been in their best interest to do so. I wonder: have they been bullied into it? Do they default to vote as their husbands, their fathers, their bosses do? Do they want THAT MUCH church in their state?
That said, the time for debate is over and we’ve seen democracy in action; I’ll cross my fingers for the best and continue to be proud to be an American.
