Some things:
- Um, so the police were all over our block today. Because they found a “badly decomposing body in the abandoned house” directly across the street from us. So there’s that.
- The police and local news reporters talked to me, so Jack and I were on tv, thus publicizing what I hope was the single least attractive moment of my life. Post-gym, nothing done to it, wavy/curly/nappy hair, flapping wildly in the wind; terrible, sunless, Wisconsin winter in the mid-day lighting; a shot-from-the-street while I’m on the curb/upward angle…and then there are the expressions…oh, the expressions…eyes a-poppin’ and a Wisconsin accent a’flingin’…Oh, and I was pretty much fully unaware of said accent. Until now.
- Now I’m self-conscious about it.
- Everyone I know saw this newscast.
- Yup.
- I’ve been reading mom-blog, looking for fun activities for the boys since the frigid weather has us trapped indoors. They pretty much serve no purpose, I’m sure, other than to make me feel totally inadequate.
- I just sighed to P, “…I need to figure out how to make the boys smarter…” So there’s that.
